If an engine is not working then it becomes a repair to diagnose why it is not working before a tune up can be done.
A repair and a tune up are charged seperately
Diagnostics:
Diagnostics: In order to determine what is wrong with the item and how to resolve the problem we must perform diagnostic tests. This can some times take up labor time.
Our minimum cost for Diagnostics is $ 30.00 and goes towards repair if repair approval is given.
If repair is not approved then the diagnostic fee is Non Refundable
Diagnotic fee will be waived should the customer decide to donate the item to be used for parts, enviroment recycle or upcycle.
Ordering Parts for repair
It may be required for the customer to pay for parts in advance that need to be ordered
A typical tune up consits of the following. Parts are not included
* Carburetors and other small parts are cleaned using a heated Ultrasonic bath
* cleaning or replacement of spark plug
* cleaning or replacement of Air Filter
* cleaning or replacement of Fuel Filter
* Checking fuel tank for dirt and cleaning if required
* Checking Fuel Lines
* Checking inline fuel filters
* check and cleaning or replacement of fuel petcocks
* cleaning or replacement of Carburetor
* Draing and changing oil
* Checking and adjusting any belts, cables, levers, bearings etc.
* Checking of snowblower augers
* Checking or replacing broken auger sheer bolts
* sharpening and balance or replacement of mower blades
Question: So what is the average national cost of repair?
An average push lawnmower tune up can cost between $ 65.00 to $ 120.00 depending on type of mower and any parts required for the tune up
An average self propelled lawnmower tune up can cost between $ 65.00 to $ 140.00 depending on type of mower and any parts required for the tune up
An average riding mower tune up can cost between $ 130.00 to $ 250.00 depending on type of mower and any parts required for the tune up
An average Snowblower tune up can cost between $ 100.00 to $ 150.00 depending on type of blower and any parts required for the tune up
Question: Do you charge by the hour or by the job? We charge mostly by the hourly rate of $ 65.00 per hour, however some jobs are estimated by flat rate books from manufacturers Sometimes unforseen cicumstances such as rusted parts can extend the dificulty level from the suggested flat rate from manufacturers resulting in a small increase over the estimated cost of repair In the event that the cost is over the estimated price, then we will contact the customer to see if the customer wants us to proceed with the repair or not.
